ADELE
Adele Lauriel Blue Adkins was born on May, 5th, 1988 in London. British singer, songwriter, musician, and multi-instrumentalist. Her debut album, 19, was released in 2008 to much commercial and critical success. It certified four times platinum in the UK, and double platinum in the US. Adele released her second album, 21, in early 2011. The album was well received critically and surpassed the success of her début, earning the singer six Grammy Awards in 2012 including Album of the Year, equalling the record for most Grammy Awards won by a female artist in one night. She gained the biggest popularity thanks to the songs – “Rolling in the Deep” and “Someone Like You”. It is precisely these songs maintained in a strong top of the charts. At this point, she managed to break three records Guinness – she is the first woman with two singles and two albums in the top five of the UK hit list, the first woman whose album has sold three million copies in a year and maintained in the first place for more than 11 weeks. Adele won with Madonna, who set the previous record in 1991. Adele has stated that her biggest musical influences are Etta James and Beyoncé.
